Bishop Joseph Karikkassery inaugurated the signature campaign against easter week exams

Bishop Joseph Karikkassery, Kottappuram Bishop stood in the forefront for signature campaign conducted by KLCA Kottappuram diocese against the decision of cbse to conduct examinations on easter week. The decision to protest against easter examination was declared by the State Committee of KLCA and January 24 and January 31 declared as protest days in parish. 

Reception to state president at his home diocese

Mr Antony Noronha and K H John was given reception at Kannur, along with Msgr Clarence Palieth, the new Vicar General of Kannur diocese. 

Records handed over to the Committee in charge

The newly elected committee of KLCA State for the year 2015-2018 assumed charge officially here, at Pastoral Orientation Centre of KCBC, Palarivattom.

The bye law and flag of the organisation was handed over by Mr Shaji George to the president elect Mr Antony Noronha; the minutes book was handed over by Micheal P John to General Secretary elect Adv Sherry J Thomas and the accounts book was handed over by Ratheesh Antony to Mr Joseph Perera, the treasurer elect.

The meeting also decided to conduct a state wide leaders meet at Ernakulam in the month of April, prior to Assembly elections. The organisation also decided to present their political view after appraising the existing political situation and accommodation of pending demands of the community. 

Reception to E S Jose, Adv Sherry J Thomas, Shaji George, Adv V A Jerom, Adv Cherry Babu

Kochi- 21.1.16- KLCA Archdiocese of verapoly presented mementos for achievements to its various leaders. Mr E S Jose, the Managing Council Member of the KLCA diocesan committee is elevated to the post of Chairman of Hindi Prachar Sabha, a prominent post in all India level. Mr Cherry Babu is also posted in Hindi Prachar Sabha as a committee member in charge of affairs of Kerala State. 

Adv Sherry J Thomas, legal forum convener of KLCA diocesan committee is elected as the General Secretary of KLCA state committee. Adv V A Jerom, who was the former president of the diocesan committee is elected as one of the Vice president of KLCA state committee. Mr Shaji George, former state president of KLCA and spoke person of KRLCC, has be elected as the president of KCF (Kerala Catholic Federation).

The managing council meeting held on the other day presented mementos and felicitated the leaders. 

Reception to Msgr Mathew Elenjimittam

Msgr Mathew Elenjimittam assumed charge as the Additional Vicar General of Archdiocese of Verapoly. The KLCA of Archdiocese of Verapoly gave a warm reception to Msgr in the Managing Council meeting held at the Diocesan office. Diocesan president P M Benjamin presided over the meeting.

ഈസ്റ്റർ ശനിയാഴ്ച നടത്താനിരിക്കുന്ന CBSE പരീക്ഷ  മാറ്റിവയ്ക്കണമെന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് 24/1/16 ഞായറാഴ്ച രാവിലെ ദിവ്യബലിക്കു ശേഷം ബഹുജന പരാതി തയ്യാറാക്കുന്നു. ഓരോ സമുദായ സ്നേഹിയുo പേരും വിലാസവും എഴുതി പൂരിപ്പിച്ച മാതൃകാ പരാതി അധികാരികൾക്ക് പോസ്റ്റൽ/ഇമെയിൽ/ ഫാക്സ് ആയി അയച്ചുകൊടുക്കാവുന്ന രീതിയിൽ ക്രമീകരണങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യണം.

Sir,

1.       I/We belong to Roman Catholic, a Minority community in India. The Roman Catholics in Kerala are privileged with the Constitutional rights of Minorities as per the Constitution of India.
2.       It is submitted that, on all occasions of Easter days, various Central Government Departments used to declare public examinations and other examinations causing difficulties to the faithful in and around Kerala. This time also, it is learned that CBSE has fixed the board examination on 26/3/16 Easter Saturday. These days being ‘holy’ days for Catholics, to be spent in religious thoughts and ceremonies, fixing examination on those dates are against their constitutional rights of right to worship and right to practice any religion. 
3.       It is submitted that on occasions when such examinations are scheduled, due to objections and some times due to the intervention of higher authorities, the said exams were rescheduled.
There are occasions which the exams remained un changed and the people amongst us suffered by losing their rites in holy week. Now this year also, we don't want to face such an embarrassing situation and we are hereby raising our protest much earlier so as to refix the date.
          Therefore, in the interest of justice, it requested that you may take steps to change the date of CBSE examination scheduled on 26/3/16 (Easter Saturday).
